It's 2 more days to valentines day,
And many people were giving gifts in school today.
Let me list down all my v day gifts:
- card and og photo and sweets from estelle
- funtime chocolate from ogl audrey
- a thank you sms that kok chin had for us to thank us for giving all our beloved ogls a card and gifts (don't really count, but still.)
- a ferrero rocher from aijia, jiayi, moyra, sherry, shu qin and ying jie
- a cookie from aijia
- cookies from zhiling when we were in xinmin
And of course, curiousity will have you wondering what james gave me.
So here you go:
- A heart shaped cake key chain that I have been dangling for everyone to see (haha)
- An origami bear and an origami heart that says "Jiayou! J love P"
- And another one he says he's giving me on wednesday... So i'll have to bear with the suspense.
And what did I give him?
A display object with cute girl and guy angels, and a v day card.
And I gave mel, nad and van v day cards today.
Cos I didn't have any of the lectures today (muahaha),
I spent 2 hours in the library doing the cards.
Huiting's card is still with me cos she's not in school today,
Not to forget sian and cher,
And of course gasper, bel, nas and xinyi, which I didn't make cos I didn't know I was gg to xinmin today.
The cny celebration was ok.
I love the music and dance performances...
Very nice!!!

So the celebration ended about 12.45pm,
And all ajcians who are also xinminians met
And boarded 72 to xinmin!!!
The atmosphere was HIGH in xinmin!!!
Mdm liew told us to do cheers for xinmin!
And I think all sec4'09 were so happy, we were cheering so happily!
I'm super glad I went,
So happy to see everybody!
Us 402 folks went for lunch at coffee shop,
Then played werewolves at a void deck,
Took photos,
And I had to leave.
I'll miss 402 lots...
Very sore,
Because we won't get to spend our first v day tgt.
Sometimes,
I wish our parents know, and can accept us.
And is open to us meeting and all that.
Now I can't see him for four whole days,
Unless my mum lets me go ms tan's house.
How I wish I can give him hugs and kisses, all on v day...
But my darling james,
Though we can't spend the day tgt,
We'll always feel connected right?
The affinity we share is unbelievable.
Things may seem deliberate,
When they are really merely coincidences.

lectures
Shall not list day by day,
Will die by the time I finish blogging.
Nothing much interesting about lectures,
Since I'm still trying to get used to it,
And I dunno why I always feel so sleepy in lectures.
But that doesn't mean I sleep,
Cos I peel my eyes wide open.
There's this really interesting thing at phy lecture.
My teacher lecturer has a software called "the hat",
And it will pick out a name to answer questions.
If your name is picked, it will never be picked again.
She did this so that all the 480 of us will get a chance to speck in class.
Though it's scary to have to worry about seeing your own name on the screen,
The thing is still kinda cool right?

I'm in debate.
The problem is,
I got chosen at my very first "training" to be part of the team
Which will be taking part in a competition in about 5 weeks.
I'm still so not prepared!
And I'm not sure whether I can handle the stress...
And my coach has decided after the spar with fuhua sec
That we had the very next day (thurs)
As a less than 24 hours team,
That I'll be stuck as 3rd speaker.
People who know me will know that
I tend to screw as 3rd speaker.
I was just lucky that I didn't screw up
At the spar with fuhua sec.

I'm so tired.
Any ajc non muggers like me who didn't do the maths hw,
No worries,
I also didn't do.
I tried to motivate myself, but haiz,
No motivation.
Also nobody to motivate me.
SIGHS.
I'm extremely bloated now,
Thanks to my mum cooking too much of the spaghetti for dinner.
But I love the sauce,
Very special and delicious compared to those common tomato ones.
I feel like a lost sheep...

Monday 1.Feb.2010 - 3rd day of orientation
People in my og started talking to me...
The funnest games today were the volleybomb,
Where we had to compete with another og,
And only use trash bags to pass the balls to the other side,
And also the passing of different balls from one side of the mph to the other,
By holding the hands of the partner to form a square to hold the ball and pass it.
I also got to do forfeit with 2 other guys when we were playing cat and mouse.
The forfeit was to dance 'i want nobody nobody but you'!!!
Very paiseh!
We also learnt the mass dance,
Which was according to the song 'That Girl'.
Kinda fun, but I couldn't coordinate,
So kept missing dance steps.
Tuesday 2.Feb.2010 - 4th day of orientation
My og was getting more enthusiastic,
So we kept cheering today.
There were 3 funnest games.
The first was to move from one end of a row of chair to the other,
An inter og competition.
When 2 players meet, they were supposed to play a game of
'Batman, spiderman and ultraman'.
I lost at the 2nd last chair!!! Tsk.
The second was treasure hunting,
Where trekkers were blindfolded and directed by their teammates to the "treasure box",
And they were supposed to get the correct treasure.
Also an inter og game.
I seriously think my og damn pro,
Cos we kept winning the inter og games!
Haha!
The third was to throw paper balls into pails and boxes in the centre,
Which were protected by protectors who formed a circle around the boxes,
And had to prevent the balls from going in.
Starting to like my og more today.
And still trying to mingle.
We learnt the couple dance today,
Which was according to the song 'Mambo number 5'.
Very fun, and my dance partner was nick lim.
Anyone who wonders where's james?
He got to dance with 2 different girls.
Oops.
Wednesday 3.Feb.2010 - Last day of orientation
The best day of orientation!
Everyone was super high,
And the atmosphere was great!
My og kept cheering non-stop,
And we had 2 new members.
Today, we had to play the games to earn forzees,
Which was the currency of island forza,
Part of the theme for this year's orientation.
My og kept haggling with the station masters for more forzees.
The forzees were later used to buy materials for designing the armor and weapons
For the fashion show in the finale.
And I played a big part in the designing...
=)
The finale was superb!
The dances by the ogls and student council,
Our mass dances,
The fashion show,
The ajc rap,
The orientation song...
And all the cheering!
My og was the 2nd best og!!! =D
The most enthu og was nick lam's og,
And the most enthu alliance was cielo.
The winner for the fashion show was my alliance, Tritone!!!
And the best house for the whole orientation was also Tritone!!!
Yahoo!!!
And I really love the orientation videos and dances.
I'm also trying to make james jealous by telling him that
I like bong, our alliance captain.
Muahaha!!!
My ogls made my og stay back and they each gave us cards and kinder bueno!
And I must say that kok chin is so cute!
He was the guy who did that cute pose in the tritone dance!!!
And he's super tall...1.9m leh!!!
Then my og kept taking photos,
And we were doing this spinning around in a circle cheer,
Which made me really dizzy...

Friday 5.Feb.2010 - First day of lessons
In fact, I didn't have a single lecture!!!
This is what you get if you are the special and only one taking your subject combi...

So, I went with james to look for hod science for his appeal.
I guess nick khaw is right.
I shall let him go pursue his interest.
But still can't help feeling sad...sighs.
The whole day was slack slack slack.
I think ajc very scary.
We just got the maths lecture notes,
And you see people doing the maths hw everywhere you go...
I felt kinda guilty to be slacking...
But i'm so not the mugger type!
How to survive 2 years like this???
Went to nlb at 12.15pm and borrowed twilight.
1pm, got the graphing calculator they are loaning to fas students.
2.15pm, went to auditorium for the workshop teaching us how to use the gc.
But that guy teach so fast,
Huiting and I got really frustrated trying to catch up.
Zzzz.
5pm, debate trials.
Very scary, cos I kept stammering!
They had 2 motions for us to choose.
1st: THW legalise trade of human organs.
Which I didn't choose cos I didn't know much about this topic.
2nd: THBT Singapore should be smoke-free.
Which I chose to do the proposition side.
I don't like trials.
I'll tend to stammer, and forget to elaborate.
Haiz.
A senior came in towards the last part of my speech.
When I finished, she asked me whether I had debating experience.
I said yes, and told her I was from xinmin.
Then she asked me whether I know lucas,
Who was my 1st coach, and currently studying in america.
It should be to my advantage to let them know that I know him,
Cos he's really smart and well known in the debate circuit.
Please just let me be in,
I don't feel like going to interact club already...
Saturday 6.Feb.2010 - Pure history class gathering
I went to bugis street first, and bought a wallet for james.
Also went to OG and bought something for james... for valentine's day.
Then when james finally came at 11.30am,
We went to temple to pray first,
Then went to buy watch for him.
But he insisted on buying something for him,
So in the end, we got a pair of couple watch.
It's just the same black watch,
But the numberings inside are of different colours.
His is blue, and mine is green.
We were wearing it the whole day, for any of you who noticed!
Then took mrt to orchard and went to ngee ann city.
We were the first to reach seoul garden!!!

The lunch buffet was fabulous!
Thanks to mr pah!!!
I ate lots of meat,
And my personal favourites are teriyaki and char siew.
The spaghetti is very yummy too!
Then there were ice creams to eat,
Brownies,
Paus and siew mai...(i didn't eat),
And you can make your own ice kachang!
The best was the spirit!
We were cheering for our own jcs...Lol.
But it was a good time to catch up,
Lots of chatting.
We were the craziest and noisiest group in there...
Haha.
After the sumptuous lunch buffet,
We went to kovan to play pool and bowling.
I joined the pool group.
The truth is, I don't rock at pool.
My 1st time was when our class went to srr,
And I screwed up horribly that time.
So this was my 2nd time.
Not to bad, with improvements along the way.
I played my 1st round against james.
I was leading at first, but he still won in the end.
Very fun! Must go play pool more often!!!
James and I went off 1st, and we shared macdonald for dinner.
Then he sent me home.
Right now, I'm trying my best to do the maths self practice ws,
But failing miserably.
I need ms yeo!
Cos I've forgotten lots of things!!!
Bad bad bad!!!

The last 3 days of orientation were rather fun!
Will blog more on sunday.
Whole college went to east coast park for college CIP
To collect rubbish today.
Some people met our singapore president (i wasn't so lucky),
And 2 girls took photo with him.
So lucky right?
I saw a mini crab skeleton,
And a sea shell which is half white and half black!

Met vjc people there,
And the 2 jcs were like having cheer competition.
But didn't meet any vjc people i know...
Sad.
I got into my 1st choice subject combi!
But I think only me in the combi leh...after i scanned through the list.
James got the same combi as me,
But he's appealing to take h2 hist (n possibly chem),
So haiz...forget it.
Can't bear the thought of us possibly being in different classes.
Already suffered when we were in different ogs,
And I was very jealous when he danced with another girl...hmph.
But I can't psycho him to stay in the same combi as me leh...
Sighs.

402 class gathering on 27012010
I'm very very very glad that I insisted on going.
It was very fun!
Though the fire starting part was very frustrating,
Because the bbq pit was right next to the sea,
So the breeze kept blowing out the attempts to start the fire.
I just love 402.
The unity, the spirit is there.
It's so fun, just being there with everybody else.
And the class not forgetting to take a class photo before james and I left!

The night view at pasir ris park is splendid!
But it's hard to explore the park without a bicycle,
Cos it's huge.
I'm gonna miss 402!!!

I'm serious.
Unlike van and huiting,
I'm still a desperate girl not making friends with any of the girls in my og.
I tried ok.
Sometimes I wish I'm a guy,
It seems that guys have a easier time making friends.
There are 11 girls and 9 guys in my og,
And everyone's paired up already.
So, you get the idea.
I'm thankful for nick lim,
Or else I'll die in school.
But I'm still not looking forward to going back to school on monday.
I totally dread monday.
How am I going to survive two long years in JC???

Besides the fact that I failed at minggling,
The ice breakers were kinda fun,
And probably the only thing I enjoyed the whole day.
The games were kinda...boring,
Since my og was in slow motion mode,
Though our student councillor said we were fast.

The mass dance was still quite enjoyable thanks to mel and nick lim,
Very funny la.
Then the cca carnival thing was...okay i guess.
People were actively promoting their ccas,
Which left me totally confused.
I totally didn't want to end up in library and debate for ccas again,
But desperate me just submitted my cca choices,
1st choice- debate, 2nd choice- interact club.
I just hope it works out.
And in order to get some leadership position
To aid in application for scholarships in university,
I've decided to work really hard for debate and get some leadership position there.
I'm starting to think that this won't work out...

I think I'm starting to get really pessimistic and emo-ish...

Meaning xinmin has the 5th most people in ajc!!!

The weekend
On saturday, went to get the edusave scholarship.
The mp george yeo came at 5pm,
Ended quite early at about 5.30pm.
The ceremony was held at holy innocent high school.
While waiting, I was bored,
And thinking.
Inner monologues during that period:
Sometimes, when you are too busy, you'll wish for a good break. But when life comes to a standstill, you'll feel restless. However, if I can have the man of my life right next to me, no matter how event-less and boring my life may be, it won't matter. I just want you with me.
Ya, shows how bored I was then... A bit emo. -_-
I should be feeling happy and privileged that I get these edusave scholarships every year and get to shake the mp's hand every year. Alas, I feel no joy. Maybe, I just want people to see me for who I am. Not as a smart and intelligent girl, but as a girl who is lonely, and struggling to find my place in my family, and with my friends. Where do I belong? Who am I?
Emo again...
On sunday,
I went to chinatown with mum and sis.
It was kinda windy,
But once you entered the pasar malam,
It's like you entered a burning furnace.
Horrible heat!
Saw james there, who was with his parents,
But he didn't see me.
It kind of sucks when you can't just approach your bf when you see him,
All because parents are around.
Haiz...
I'm still thinking whether to go for 402's bbq.
My mum tell me go, then later she say don't go.
She very fickle-minded.
The whole problem is that next day is a school day.
I'm already having trouble waking up at 6am to fetch my sis to school,
Even when I sleep at as early as 9pm.
How???
I shall continue thinking...
